At Sussex Wine School we are passionate about good beer! From locally crafted ales made by independent breweries to artisan international styles such as American craft beers or the lambic beers of Belgium. We love all of it!
We have teamed up with Rob Parker from Beer & Brew in Brighton to put together a great programme of beer tastings.
Rob is an Institute of Brewing & Distilling (IBD) qualified Beer Sommelier, one of around only 160 in the world. He knows lots about brewing beer, but his passion is for tasting. He loves sharing his knowledge in a fun and entertaining way, and helping people develop an appreciation for lots of different beer styles. There’s no snobbery or preconceptions – it’s just about making really good beer as accessible as possible. Rob’s favourite beers are Belgian and German, and he visits both countries every year to find new ones. He loves trying new breweries and varieties, too, and is currently focusing on British beers, particularly those from Sussex.
Come and experience a beer tasting with us. You'll learn all about what beer is (and isn't), how beer is made, the role of yeast, packaging types, how to evaluate and taste beer and beer and food pairing plus much more.
Join us as we explore the diverse and fascinating world of beer. Beer is experiencing a renaissance in the UK at the moment. This fascinating Introduction to beer evening will focus on
