Fine Wine Tasting: Italian Nebbiolos
We are meeting the classic Italian grape Nebbiolo for the next of our Fine Wine adventures.
Nebbiolo wines have been made in northern Italy for many centuries and the grape is responsible for two of the most famous Italian red wines - Barolo and Barbaresco. There are many more Nebbiolo regions to explore however.
These wines are naturally high in acidity and tannin and have the ability to develop over 10-20 years. We'll be getting under the skin of this wonderful grape variety through a tutored tasting of seven wines.
Although often pale in colour these delicious reds have an ethereal smell of roses, stewed plums, undergrowth and spice.
We will have our decanters at the ready as we taste our way through Nebbiolo wines from the following regions:
- Nebbiolo d'Alba
This is a tutored tasting with a digital presentation, tasting notes, tasting sheet, professional ISO tasting glasses and some Italian food nibbles.
